Project VBOT is a virtual substance use treatment provider delivering evidence-based, clinician-led care designed to fit real life — making high-quality treatment accessible, consistent, and respectful without sacrificing clinical standards.
We believe effective treatment should:
Virtual care allows us to remove many of the obstacles that prevent people from seeking or continuing treatment — while maintaining the clinical standards that make treatment effective.
Project VBOT was developed in conjunction with the North Carolina Medical Society Foundation as part of a broader effort to expand access to evidence-based substance use disorder treatment across the state. The Foundation — established in 1849 — provides institutional oversight and medical leadership that distinguishes VBOT from consumer-facing digital health apps.
Our Clinical Director, David Bolton, LPC, has worked in addiction medicine for more than 40 years. The clinical architecture of Project VBOT reflects decades of real-world substance use treatment experience — built into the model's protocols, provider training, and care standards.
This isn't a startup. It isn't an app.
It's clinical addiction care built on proven medical leadership — delivered virtually so more people can actually access it.
Project VBOT serves individuals seeking support for substance use challenges, including those who prefer virtual and private care, have work or family constraints, live in areas with limited in-person treatment, or are seeking structured clinician-led support.
We also work with families, legal professionals, and referral partners when appropriate and permitted.
You don't have to have everything figured out before you call.
